New Kids On The Block Is Back!

Kalo kamu lahir di taun 90-an, pasti kamu blom kenal sama "New Kids On The Block" (NKOTB). Mereka ada sebelum Backstreet Boys, NSYNC or boyband-boyband laen ikut menyusul ketenaran mereka. NKOTB adalah Boy Band beranggotakan 5 cowok, Jordan Knight, Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Jonathan Knight dan Danny Wood.
Debut pertama mereka "New Kids On The Block" dirilis pada tahun 1986, menyusul album kedua "Hangin' Tough" dan album christmas "Merry Merry Christmas" di tahun 1988-1989, kemudian album "Step By Step" di tahun 1990. Setelah merilis album remix mereka "No More Games", mereka vakum selama tiga tahun dan dikabarkan bubar, tapi sebenarnya belum bubar, karena di tahun 1994 tiba-tiba saja muncul album "Face The Music", yang adalah album terakhir mereka sebelum bubar. Setelah itu, tiada kabar berita lagi tentang New Kids On The Block, tapi beberapa personilnya ada yang bersolo karir, antara lain Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre dan Danny Wood. Jauh setelah New Kids On The Block tidak lagi muncul di dunia permusikan, salah satu anggotanya Donny Wahlberg juga sempat membintangi beberapa buah film layar lebar mengikuti jejak Mark Wahlberg (sang adik).
Setelah beberapa tahun berlalu, akhirnya tahun ini nama "New Kids On The Block" mulai terdengar lagi dan muncul di TV. Berbahagialah para Fans, karena mereka "Come Back" lagi di dunia musik. Tahun ini, mereka telah mempersiapkan untuk merilis album baru dan mengadakan tour besar-besaran.
Berarti, kalau dihitung... selama sepuluh tahun lebih mereka menghilang. Wuih...

Segitu aja ah ketak-ketik tentang NKOTB-nya. Terus terang, gw penasaran, album baru mereka bakalan seperti apa. Yang jelas, jenis musiknya nggak jauh-jauh beda kali sama yang dulu. Gw dulu emang sering dengerin NKOTB, tahunya dulu waktu SMP, tapi bukan fans yang fanatik. Gw lebih suka dengerin "Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch" (Karir musik Mark Wahlberg pada waktu masih jadi Rapper, sebelum jadi bintang film) ketimbang NKOTB. Dari 6 Album NKOTB yang udah keluar, salah satu favorit album gw adalah album "Face The Music", soalnya gw suka sama warna beat-beatnya yang asik.
